Leptoseris Coral Care

Leptoseris corals are colorful, plating LPS corals that do well in low to moderate light, making them ideal for shaded areas or lower parts of the reef tank. They prefer gentle to moderate water flow and stable conditions to thrive.

Recommended Water Parameters:

  • Temperature: 76–80°F (24–27°C)

  • Salinity: 1.024–1.026

  • Alkalinity: 8–12 dKH

  • Calcium: 400–450 ppm

  • Magnesium: 1250–1350 ppm

  • Nitrate: <10 ppm

  • Phosphate: <0.03 ppm

Place Leptoseris on rockwork where it can grow outward, but keep it away from aggressive corals. While it gets most of its energy from photosynthesis, occasional feeding with fine coral foods (like reef roids or phytoplankton) can enhance color and growth.

With proper placement and stable water, Leptoseris corals are a hardy and beautiful addition to any reef tank.
